This song, out of Irakere's dance repertoire, was first recorded on the 1989 Irakere album Calzada Del Cerro. One of the things that really strikes me about Del Puerto's playing on this track is his use of articulations to add personality into the line. As a bassist in latin music, you can't listen to this track without saying "that's Carlos Del Puerto". At the same time, his playing is always supportive and non-intrusive. Musicality and impeccable timing make this a must learn salsa bassline.
