After a long battle with leukemia, percussionist Norman Hedman passed away this past Monday, September 29, 2008, at the age of 63. Hedman performed with a variety of pop artists, including Daryl Hall and Alicia Keys. He also found success with his own Latin Jazz group, Tropique. You can read the full obituary HERE.
I just recently discovered a new Latin Jazz blog, Street Level Productions. They’ve got some great videos and pictures over there, it’s definately worth taking a look!
Singer Claudia Acuña discusses her latest collaboration with pianist Arturo O’Farrill in an interview with Tomas Peña over at Jazz.com. It’s an interesting talk that includes ideas about jazz, Chilean music, and more! Check it out HERE!
