Blue Mambo In The Listening Center

Looking for some new music to get you geared up for Election Day? Head over to the LJC Listening Center where you can download the track “Cafe Sin Leche” from our current Spotlight artist, Blue Mambo. The track provides an addictive feel that walks the line between contemporary Latin Jazz and Cuban timba. Saxophonist Al Acosta and trumpet player Guido Gonzalez both deliver-high energy solos, leading up to a tasteful statement from co-leader drummer Victor Rendón. Blue Mambo includes some great songwriting and top-notch playing - take a minute to check out “Cafe Sin Leche” and then pick up Blue Mambo. It’s well worth the price!

Once you’ve downloaded “Cafe Sin Leche,” take a minute to check out all the great music that we’ve got in the Listening Center. A large variety of artists have generously shared their work with the LJC audience, spreading the goodwill of the Latin Jazz community. Whether you’re looking for some new music to fill your iPod or you’re curious about new Latin Jazz, the Listening Center has got something for you. It presents a great opportunity to introduce yourself to some new Latin Jazz artists, and hopefully find some new albums that inspire you. If you find something that you like, buy the album and support these artists!

Did I mention that today is Election Day? It’s a vital opportunity to let your voice be heard in the political process. We’ve got so much at stake in today’s elections; don’t let your opportunity pass without casting your vote. There’s a lot of people that would agree with me - stop by Ben & Jerry’s tomorrow after you vote and get a free scoop of ice cream; go to Krispy Kreme doughnuts with your “I Voted” sticker and get a free star shaped doughnut; or stop by Starbucks and get a free cup of coffee. The most important reason to vote is to help move our country along though! Don’t forget to read about the One Latin Jazz Album That Obama and McCain Should Hear Before Election Day; check out the album and then get out there and vote!
