The New York Times recently featured a review of pianist Danilo Perez’s piece of the Jazz At Lincon Center’ Monk celebration. His concert revisited repertoire from his 1996 album Panamonk, a Latin Jazz vision of Thelonious Monk’s compositions. It’s an interesting vision of Perez’s work today, and his take on Monk after several years with Wayne Shorter’s quartet. You can check out the full article HERE.
