NEWS
Voting for the LJC Best of the Year Awards has been going strong over the past week with lots of people visiting the site to support their favorite Latin Jazz artists. As visitors have added entries into the voting, I’ve learned about many new artists; I’ve added albums from those artists in the “Available Now” section below. I’ve also appreciated all the e-mails and comments - keep them coming! It’s great to come into contact with so many LJC readers. Remember, voting ends on December 23rd, so VOTE NOW!

NPR’s annual holiday event, “A Jazz Piano Christmas” integrated a significant Latin Jazz presence this year with featured pianists Arturo O’Farrill, Rebeca Mauleon, Angel Echevarria, and Eliane Elias. Each pianist played individually, integrating some holiday music in addition to pieces from their own repertoire. The musicians then collaborated onstage for a round robin version of “Jingle Bells.” You can stream the event online from NPR’s website HERE.
