There’s only one more day left to vote in the LJC Best of 2008 Awards, head on over to the Voting Page now! The voting process has been fantastic this year with thousands of votes coming in every category. Late night on Tuesday December 12th, I’ll be shutting down the polls and tallying the votes. From Saturday December 27th to Wednesday December 31st, I’ll be announcing a few winners every day - make sure you check LJC each day to see the results. If you haven’t participated yet, you still have time . . . VOTE NOW!

Miami pianist Kiki Sanchez was recently featured on the local television feature Crossing Cultures, Changing Lives. The blog area of Soy Andina has captured it all and adds some additional insights. The video provides a great introduction to Sanchez and his interest in Afro-Peruvian Jazz. Check it out HERE.

Bay Area Latin Jazz vocalist Alexa Weber Morales recently posted a great review of a concert by the Clare Fischer Big Band. Morales attended the show at The Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles and got the chance to hear the band play a wide variety of Fischer classics in both straight ahead and Latin Jazz styles. Morales is not only a fantastic singer, but also a wonderful writer - she really gives you a sense of what the show had to offer. Check out her full review HERE.
