Owner of the New York Latin Jazz hotspot La Fonda Boricua Jorge Ayala has created a place that emanates with pride in the city’s Puerto Rican cultural heritage. Recognizing this, ABC journeyed out to the club in order to interview Ayala and get his opinion about Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama’s first Supreme Court nominee. Ayala talks about Spanish Harlem, Sotomayor, and the FB Lounge; it’s a great article that has its pulse right on the heart of New York. Check it out HERE.

NPR points their “favorite sessions” feature directly at Latin Jazz singer Claudia Acuña this week, building upon an interview conducted by Josh Jackson for WBGO radio back in March. Acuña discusses her musical background, her move to New York, and of course, her newest album, En Este Momento. There’s a few great audio streams included in the article, providing a nice look at the new album and Acuña’s solid skills. It’s definitely worth checking out; you can read the article HERE.
