Free Tickets For Aruán Ortiz Southern California Performance

by chip on January 3, 2012

Looking for a great way to start off the new year? What better way to kick off 2012 than with some live Latin Jazz? If you’re in the Southern California area, you’re in luck – LJC can get you into a fantastic event featuring one of the genre’s most exciting young musicians.

Everyday for the next five days, we’ll be giving away 2 pairs of tickets to see pianist Aruán Ortiz and his trio perform in the Los Angeles area on Friday January 13th, 2012. Ortiz is an amazingly creative pianist from Cuba that can paint a song with colorful chords, improvise with a passionate ferocity, and throw down an unstoppable montuno. He’s also a recent winner in LJC’s Best Of 2011 Awards – his arrangement of “El Cumbanchero” for Mark Weinstein’s mixture of jazz and charanga music on El Cumbanchero won for Best Arrangement, a much deserved honor. This is a musician with a command over his artistry and a serious set of chops to back it up – if you’re in the Los Angeles area, you don’t want to miss this!

The concert will feature Ortiz in an intimate environment – this is a house concert that will only hold a small amount of people. You’ll be up front and close to the amazing music from Ortiz and his trio. It’s easy to win these tickets – here’s all you have to do:

  • LIKE the LJC Facebook Page
  • If you’ve already liked our page, you’re still eligible!

  • We’ll do this Tuesday 1/3/12 – Saturday 1/7/12; that’s a total of 10 pairs of tickets!

I hear you – this one sounds incredible. Our So. Cal readers are striking a lucky break on this one with the free tickets. I’m pretty sure that Aruán is making a stop up here in the Bay Area with his trio at Yoshi’s too – not going to miss that one!
